Day 2 – Roads, Ferries & ‘A Brew in Looe’ (07/08/23)
Well they said today was going to be tough and they did not lie.
Unfortunately we started off the day with a mechanical issue which meant that Kelly had to be transferred to one of the spare bikes; this is not ideal as it is not set up to her personal taste but also a little awkward to ride as it’s slightly too long for her reach.
Kelly showed the heart of a lion today with more determination than even she thought was available!!
This hiccup did not detract from our adventure and it has been yet another awesome day.The weather has been very very kind; the scenery has been stunning with even more of those pesky hills – keeping us well trained
We also took to the water with the route involving both the Bodinnik Ferry and the Cremyl Ferry.
The first leg of the day (18 miles) took us to the beautiful Cornish town of Looe where we stopped for a ‘Brew in Looe’. Lunch was taken 37 miles into the day with the afternoon ‘Brew Stop’ at the 53 mile point…..17 miles from the evening’s hotel in Bovey Tracey.
We have been well fed & watered and laughed a lot
More rest before another big day tomorrow with the 87 mile leg to Wookey Hole
