Day 4 – Gorges, Bridges & Rivers (09/08/23)

Beautiful weather; a much sunnier start to the day.

7 miles in and we have the mighty Cheddar Gorge; a beautiful looking piece of landscape.

We happened to bump into a crew taking pictures for the new kit to be launched by Stolen Goat (Cycling wear and accessories) so that was very interesting, but of course were sworn to secrecy and can’t tell you anything more about that – just to say it looked great and looking forward to the socks!

Cheddar Gorge was followed by the Clifton Suspension Bridge, and then the bridge over the River Seven – a monstrous span.

Lunch was taken at Abbey Mill near Tintern Abbey, a very picturesque and pleasant spot.

The day then continued through the beautiful Wye Valley ending with the obligatory 3/4 mile climb up to our hotel just south of Hereford!!
We are feeling more like mountain “goats” every day!                     (A shameless pun for stolengoat sponsorship!!!!)

Tomorrow we are heading from Hereford to Shrewsbury, a 74 mile leg..
